A team of seniors


The team focused on the portfolio strategies is composed of both senior and junior officers. Two to senior managers and two junior managers as well as the board of directors and external advisors are in charge of the day to day management of the fun. Back-office, compliance and IT support and development are internalised functions and work as a close-knit team.

The board of directors of the fund includes Federico Polese, Carlo Alberto Montagna and Marco Gastaldi. Together they share the roles of portfolio management and marketing (FP), company management (CAM) and risk management (MG). Back to main page

Federico Polese - Additional Information.

Federico was part of the NATO air force as a liaison during the Gulf War between 1990-1991, worked as an analyst in various International institutions before funding Simplify Partners SA in 2008. His investment specialisation covers several areas such as aerospace & defence and other industrial sectors as he managed specialised funds for several years. His initial specialisation was M&A and investment banking . Federico dedicates his free time to reading and endurance sports.


Federico Worked as a member of the investment committee and head of business development for Italy at Schroders Plc from 2005-2008. Over the year he developed in dept knowledge of the defence and aerospace sector in particular.

Previously he worked seven year for UBS in different roles and, before that, for Arthur Andersen in the M&A division.  Federico's academic background is in political sciences with a specialisation in economic history and business administration. He holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi and a speciality in finance from Columbia University. Over the year he continuously developed his training internationally. Back to main page

Lorenzo Codogno - Additional Information.

Lorenzo Codogno was a chief economist and director-general at the Treasury Department of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (May 2006-February 2015). He was in charge of the economic analysis and planning directorate.

Lorenzo held responsibility for macroeconomic forecasts, cyclical and structural analysis on the Italian/international economy, and analysis on European and international monetary and financial issues. He coordinated the technical preparation of Italy’s official economic and financial planning documents, notably the Stability Programme and the National Reform Programme (Document of Economy and Finance).

At the OECD, he was chairman of the Working Party 1 and head of the Italian delegation at the Economic Policy Committee (and the Economic and Development Review Committee (Survey on Italy, May 2006-February 2015). He joined the Ministry in April 2006 from Bank of America where he had worked over the previous 11 years.Back to main page
